Assemblage
From assemblage to decollage and back.

Some of the material I have found in every possible place in Munich, Germany, glued on temporary wooden fences, to walls of smoke filled bars, coffee houses, movie theaters, book stores and basements, are constantly changing. Sometimes de- veloping a thick skin with layer upon layer; or with just bits and pieces still remaining. The messages they contain are immediate and practicle with references to local and contemporary subjects and events. They have strong decorative sensibility and personalities are given a heroic stature.
As "Ankleben verboten" (No posting) they are sometimes viewed as impervious to the environment, but the reverse is true. They create their own environment. When I put them together new words appear. The forms and shapes desvide and multiply are densly constructed and biting each other. It begins to habe a certain energy, tell a story, a history. The paintings work because they do not work, the cutting, tearing and reassembling works against the tendency to organize the space. The Collage "Georg" was made with materials pasted on the wall of the University of Bucarest during the rumanian revolution 1991
